DESERT TO SEA TOURISM
& ACCOMMODATION

Yalata Camping

Yalata Indigenous Protected Area provides some of the best natural dune camping in South Australia. Located south-east of the Nullarbor, it’s surrounded by rugged sea cliffs, fringing reefs, towering coastal dunes and pristine beaches. To maintain the unique wilderness qualities of the area, access is limited to ecologically sensitive areas with just 7 campgrounds and 15 designated camping sites available. You’ll need a four-wheel-drive (4WD) and permit to access these areas. It’s best to come prepared as this is truly remote Australia – but the experience of sleeping under a starry night sky, the roar of the Great Australian Bight and spectacular sunrises and sunsets is unforgettable. Nearby is some of the best surf fishing anywhere in Australia.
